Production of McLaren 12C to end

Production of the McLaren 12C is to end and will be replaced by the recently launched 650S. originally intended to sit above the 12C in the company's model range.
The news comes via an email sent by McLaren to it's existing 12C customers, informing them of this development and offering a free Technology Upgrade upgrade on their cars. In the email, McLaren Automotive's CEO Mike Flewitt announces that, "we have decided to cease [production of the 12C] in light of the success of the 650S.". The 650S has been very well received by the motoring press, as a big improvement on the already very competent 12C, and according to McLaren, the next six month's production has already been sold.
The 12C has been in production for three years.
